Job summary

Star Manufacturing in Smithville, TN seeks a Senior New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to drive the design and launch of commercial cooking equipment from concept to market.

You will lead DFMA and FMEA activities, coordinate with manufacturing, perform 3D modeling in SolidWorks, generate BOMs, cost models, and ensure compliance with industry standards while delivering reliable, best-in-class products.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years in engineering or NPD is preferred.
• Experience with commercial cooking equipment is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of DFMA and FMEA practices.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and BOM documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects from concept through launch.
• Drive DFMA and FMEA to improve design reliability.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for design for producibility.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and agency requirements.
• Develop cost models, BOMs and project timelines.
• Create and manage design documentation and changes.
