Job summary

Tempur Sealy in North Carolina is seeking a Sr. New Product Development Engineer to drive the design and evaluation of new bedding products, ensuring designs maximize quality and cost effectiveness while meeting production capabilities.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with internal teams to validate concepts, establish robust specifications, and prepare for successful product launches across our Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, and Stearns & Foster brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Textile, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering or operations organization delivering and maintaining consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Create product specifications and ensure designs meet customer requirements and design rules.
• Ensure NPD tollgate process compliance and report at tollgate presentations.
• Develop BOMs including raw materials and time requirements.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing on material resources and options.
• Perform DFMEAs, durability/testing and validation to meet requirements.
• Work with marketing to develop claims and substantiate through validation testing.
• Lead pilot testing to validate designs through manufacturing and design reviews.
• Contribute to cross-functional teams focused on performance, margin, and customer satisfaction.
