Job summary

The Alaska Community Foundation seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to support the Controller in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and fund accounting. You will work closely with two Accounting Technicians, guiding day-to-day processing and ensuring accuracy across transactions.

This in‑office role is based in Anchorage, AK, and requires commuting to the Anchorage office. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) with eight+ years of progressive

Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting software is required.
• Advanced MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) are essential.
• Experience with financial statement preparation, audit support and reporting is required.
• Experience with grant management and reporting is required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and communicate financial information clearly.
• Knowledge of Alaska communities and commitment to ACF’s mission is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and review contributions and deposits.
• Maintain monthly recurring journal entries and reconcile bank/investment accounts.
• Reconcile and post grant and scholarship transactions to AP.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including fund statements.
• Perform quarterly reconciliations for restricted grant funds and other accounts.
• Review and manage Pick.Click.Give deposits and annual distributions.
• Assist with ad hoc GL analyses and reconciliations as needed.
• Maintain vendor/donor profile accuracy and resolve duplications.
