Job summary

Greater Lawrence Community Action Council in Lawrence, MA is seeking a Controller to oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities for a $40+ million nonprofit with 320 employees. You will lead day-to-day operations and ensure systems support program delivery and flawless audits.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage accounts payable/receivable, grants administration, internal controls, monthly close, and board reporting, while building staff capability and strengthening

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of accounting and finance experience, ideally in a complex nonprofit.
• Experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executives and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems in line with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal controls for revenue, expenditures, and safeguarding assets.
• Manage monthly close and produce financial statements for senior leadership and Board.
• Analyze financial data and present accurate reports in a timely manner.
• Support the CFO in annual budgeting and planning processes.
• Collaborate with program directors to align finance with program operations.
