Job summary

Northwest Youth Corps seeks a Controller to lead the Finance Department, oversee the full accounting cycle, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting and grant/contract compliance. The role reports to the Senior VP of Administration & Systems and manages staff, budgeting, and audits.

Ideal candidate has 5–7 years in nonprofit accounting, CPA/CMA preferred, with strong Excel, QuickBooks Online, Salesforce, and Paylocity experience. Oregon-based, full-time, on-site in Eugene.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in accounting or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on nonprofit accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal fund accounting.
• Experience in grants, contracts, and compliance for 501(c)(3) organizations.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle including GL, reconciliations, and close.
• Manage monthly/quarterly/annual close and prepare financial statements.
• Ensure grant/contract accounting compliance and reporting.
• Coordinate annual audit, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead Finance team and collaborate with departments on budget-to-actuals.
