Job summary

Rogers & Company, a public accounting firm headquartered in Tysons Corner, VA, seeks an Audit Senior for its nonprofit practice. The role covers planning, risk assessment, testing, and reporting, with on-site and limited remote work as needed.

You will oversee staff, coordinate engagements, and ensure timely audit completion. The position requires 3–5 years of nonprofit audit experience, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, and CPA or CPA candidate status, with strong GAAP/GAAS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related education.
• 3–5 years of auditing experience in public accounting, preferably nonprofit.
• CPA or CPA candidate status.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS, with nonprofit experience.
• Experience with financial statements, disclosures, and board communications.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, maintaining client relationships.
• Experience with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support multiple audit teams across all phases of planning, risk assessment, detail testing, and completion.
• Collaborate with client and audit team members at client sites, firm office, or remotely.
• Prepare, review, and evaluate working papers for standards compliance.
• Conduct and assist with testing procedures throughout the audit.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships and timely communication.
• Offer constructive input to improve client operations.
• Monitor project status and communicate schedule changes to leadership.
• Collaborate on proposals, business development, recruiting, training, and marketing.
• Maintain annual continuing education and help train staff.
