Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate for the Nonprofit Industry to join our CAAS team in Colorado. You will build deep knowledge of client operations, manage multiple engagements, and ensure accuracy across ledgers and reports.

The role encompasses day-to-day processing, month-end close, and supporting quarterly/annual tax workpapers. You will supervise associates, contribute to process improvements, and help deliver reliable financial statements for nonprofit clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting/financial experience.
• Experience in nonprofit sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops an understanding of each client's business/organization operations and manages multiple clients and accounts daily.
• Leads coordination and processing of accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts and payroll posting.
• Coordinates and reviews account reconciliations and prepares financial statements; reviews GL, cash flow, and allocations.
• Completes sales tax returns and Form 1099s and prepares audit workpapers and other client items.
• Oversees workflow and quality of work of Associates and Analysts; supervises and ensures efficiency and quality of work produced.
• Assists with internal audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consultative projects.
