Job summary

Access Health Louisiana seeks an Accountant III to support GAAP-based accounting in a nonprofit healthcare setting. You will assist the Director and manage month-end close, grant accounting, and ensure accuracy across the general ledger.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, CPA preferred, and strong Excel skills for budgeting and financial reporting. This on-site role offers growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit health care.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and budgeting/cost accounting principles.
• Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger in fund accounting environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and maintain high ethics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly payable checks and ensure proper signatures and timely mailing.
• Reconcile receivables with deposits and enter into accounting software.
• Assist with monthly close including journal entries and payments.
• Prepare analytical reports of grant funding sources and monitor project disbursements.
• Review grant disbursements for compliance with federal/state standards.
• Maintain internal controls and assist with external audits as needed.
