Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Node & React software engineer responsible for developing and maintaining web applications for ticketing solutions. You will focus on APIs interacting with back-end services and work with GraphQL and front-end React.js calls.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build scalable systems, mentor juniors, and ensure code quality and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer technology related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Node.js and React.js.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as Software Engineer/Architect.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with GTFS, Real Time transportation Lat/Long coordinates, and RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards.
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines.
• Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing of complex software systems and ensure alignment with long-term goals.
• Drive architectural decisions for scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable, high-performance systems.
• Shape product architecture and mentor junior engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design and build applications for the Node platform and ensure performance and quality.
