Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer (Node) to lead backend design and development of scalable, secure APIs in a fully remote US role. You will own major initiatives using Node.js, TypeScript, and Next.js, shaping architecture and coding standards.

You'll mentor the Node.js sub-team, drive performance, testing, and CI/CD practices while ensuring HIPAA compliance in a regulated environment. Expect collaboration with frontend and mobile teams and rigorous quality controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience with backend focus.
• Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Next.js API routes; experience building production-grade services and APIs.
• Strong experience with relational and document databases.
• Experience deploying and operating backend services on a cloud platform; Azure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture and system design for services and APIs.
• Document architectural decisions and communicate approaches to stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend features using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain Next.js API routes and Node.js services; manage authentication, caching, messaging, and database access.
• Deliver well-documented interfaces for frontend and mobile teams; provide technical leadership to the Node.js sub-team.
• Own backend performance optimization, testing strategy, and CI/CD governance.
• Ensure security, availability, and HIPAA compliance across backend services.
