Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in the United States is seeking an experienced NNSA Defense Programs Engineer to provide systems engineering, digital engineering, and integration leadership. This role supports acquisition and modernization efforts across the Nuclear Security Enterprise and collaborates with NNSA leadership to drive program success.

Based in Crystal City, VA or Chantilly, VA with on-site expectations and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field (accredited).
• 8+ years in systems engineering, acquisition program development, or tech ops.
• Strong oral and written communication, ability to present to leadership.
• Familiarity with NNSA Defense Programs missions and the Nuclear Security Enterprise.
• Active TS/SCI or Top Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide SE&I support to NNSA weapon modernization programs with analyses.
• Lead or participate in integrated project teams delivering technical solutions.
• Apply SE principles across nuclear weapons lifecycle and risk mitigation.
• Utilize digital engineering to implement modern methodologies and tools.
• Collaborate with NNSA staff and Aerospace personnel to leverage capabilities.
• Demonstrate project management to deliver on time and scope.
• Represent Aerospace to NNSA customers with technical credibility.
• Senior-level: mentor staff and advise NNSA leadership on engineering matters.
