Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an NNSA Defense Programs Engineer to serve as a technical leader in Crystal City, VA, Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, Albuquerque, NM, or Colorado Springs, CO. This role focuses on SE&I support for weapons modernization programs and digital engineering adoption.

Senior-level candidates will mentor staff, interact with NNSA leadership, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality technical products with strict security clearances and travel

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical field from an accredited university.
8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, acquisition program development and management, or technical operations with national security systems.
Familiarity with the Nuclear Security Enterprise and NNSA missions.
Strong oral and written communication skills for senior leadership and program managers.
Ability to travel occasionally, up to ~1 week per month.
Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

Provide expert SE&I support to NNSA weapons modernization programs through analyses and lifecycle reviews.
Lead or participate in integrated project teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Apply digital engineering methodologies to improve customer adoption of MBSE tools.
Represent Aerospace to NNSA customers and mentor junior staff.
