Job summary

Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a Senior Night Auditor to balance daily hotel paperwork and post charges with accuracy and timeliness. The incumbent will greet and register guests, provide prompt and courteous service, and close out guest accounts upon completion of stay.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Three (3) years experience in cash handling, reconciliation, accounting and/or auditing.
  • One (1) year of experience in night audit.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises night audit personnel, including allocation of work, scheduling, training, and resolving problems with audits.
  • Verifies and balances all account postings and records of financial transactions reported by hotel departments.
  • Performs clerical duties such as data entry and supports Front Desk clerks as needed.
  • Verifies and reconciles cashier's Daily Activity Reports and consolidates daily reports from PMS.
  • Runs night audit reports and generates required PMS reports.
  • May assist Front Desk Clerks with reservations, check-ins/outs, and guest information as needed.
  • Provides courteous, cheerful service and accurate charges to guests.
  • Maintains strict control and accountability of cash funds and charges.

Position Summary

The Senior Night Auditor will accurately balance and post all daily paperwork and charges for the hotel in a timely and efficient manner. The incumbent will greet and register guests, provide prompt and courteous service, and close out guest accounts upon completion of stay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supervises night audit personnel, which includes the allocation of work, scheduling, training, and resolving problems with various audits.
  2. Verifies and balances all account posting entries and records of financial transactions reported by various hotel departments during the day.
  3. Performs a wide range of clerical and service duties such as computer data entry and supporting Front desk clerks as needed.
  4. Verifies and reconciles the accuracy of all cashier's Daily Activity Reports, compiling the day's shift reports into a Consolidated Daily Activity Report from Property Management System (PMS) computerized reports.
  5. Responsible for running night audit reports plus all required property management system reports, generating and maintaining any required or requested reports.
  6. May function as a Front Desk Clerk, responsible for taking room reservations and cancellations, checking guests in and out, and providing information regarding activities, service charges, room availability, etc., on an as‑needed basis.
  7. Provides courteous, cheerful service and assistance to guests to ensure their comfort and well‑being.
  8. Accepts payments and accounts for change fund and money received by following established cash handling procedures.
  9. Maintains strict control and accountability of cash funds on hand, cash received and accurate accounting for charges.
  10. Ensures guests are informed of charges relating to their stay on the property.
  11. Punctual and regular attendance is essential for all team members; they are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

  1. Ability to effectively deal with customers in a courteous and friendly manner and register guests accurately and efficiently.
  2. General knowledge and skills of hotel/motel operations including reservation systems, property management systems, occupancy utilization, procedures, and general business practices.
  3. Ability to effectively interact with customers and co‑workers to provide excellent guest service in accordance with company standards.
  4. Must be able to use computerized accounting systems.
  5. Skills in bookkeeping and auditing.
  6. Must be knowledgeable in Excel and Windows based software.
  7. Must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  8. Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  9. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to supervise and provide technical training to the night audit staff.
  11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  12. Ability to operate a multi‑line phone system.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Required:

  1. Must be 21 years of age

License/Certifications/Registrations
  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a pre‑employment and random drug screening.

  • Sitting: Partially for sustained periods of time.
