**Senior Nexus Systems Administrator**

Job Category: Information Technology

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Nexus Systems Administrator to support complex IT services and strategic mission systems development for USSTRATCOM. This role involves designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing Nexus systems critical to mission operations.

The work location is Omaha, Nebraska. This position is contingent upon contract award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Nexus Repository management
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system and network performance, implement corrective actions
  • Manage network configurations, including VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), QoS, and security policies
  • Perform capacity planning and upgrades for scalability and performance
  • Implement advanced Nexus device features like Fabric Path, VXLAN, MLAG
  • Configure and troubleshoot network segmentation and security policies (ACLs, QoS)
  • Manage Cisco NX-OS, scripting, and automation tools
  • Implement network security measures on Nexus devices
  • Collaborate on network architecture design and deployment
  • Document network topology and configurations
  • Lead or support project implementations and provide technical expertise
  • Work rotating shifts as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet mission objectives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • TS/SCI security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years in systems administration, with Nexus or similar experience
  • 8140 Certification within 6 months (e.g., Security+, GSEC, Cloud+)
  • Additional certifications in DevSecOps, AWS, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, security, virtualization, and cloud services
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively
