Job summary

TEGNA Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Senior Morning Show Producer to elevate the #1 ranked morning news. You will craft urgent, engaging copy and oversee bold, high-energy broadcasts across live and streaming formats.

Collaborating with the Executive Producer, anchors, and news leaders, you’ll manage timing, lead a newsroom team, and drive enterprise stories while maintaining strong ethics and air-ready presentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• Five years of news content experience.
• Strong news judgement and use of analytics to make bold editorial decisions.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Shifts could include overnight hours, holidays and weekends.
• Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, editing and content management systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Craft compelling newscasts that embrace breaking news, enterprise content, emotion, and showcasing
• Work directly with the Executive Producer, anchors, & news leaders to consistently build a high-quality news show
• Produce regularly scheduled live, streaming content
• Be a leader in the newsroom
• Demonstrate strong news judgement and understand the tenants of ethical journalism
• Be aggressive covering breaking news and manage the newscast’s timing
• Write accurate, urgent and engaging copy
• Use creative production techniques like graphics, pre-production and unique camera shots
• Calmly handle live and breaking news in the control room

King 5 News in Seattle is looking for Senior Morning Show Producer who will hit the ground running to elevate our #1 ranked morning newscasts. We’re looking for a producer who embraces bold decisions, isn’t afraid of taking risks, and has a strong commitment to breaking news. We’re also seeking a journalist specializing in urgent, engaging, and energetic newscasts. The successful candidate will be a driven, tenacious, and creative producer with excellent writing skills.

Pay Range

$38.50 - $43.27 USD
