Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design and development of circuit protection products in a fast-paced environment. You will drive testing, documentation, and cost estimates while collaborating across manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing teams.

Qualifications

Job description

Lead the design, development, testing, and commercialization of new circuit protection products
Develop and evaluate new product concepts, prototypes, and engineering solutions
Create mechanical specifications, engineering drawings, design documentation, and cost estimates
Conduct product verification and validation activities, including test plan development and execution
Analyze test results and identify opportunities for product performance improvements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and product optimization
Research new materials, technologies, and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities
Procure samples, build prototypes, and perform testing to validate design concepts
Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and project updates for stakeholders
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
Interface directly with customers to understand application requirements and develop effective product solutions
Participate in project reviews and provide regular progress updates to leadership and project teams
Support compliance with industry standards and third-party certification requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience designing electrical power fuses, fuse accessories, or related circuit protection products
• Strong knowledge of fuse design principles and circuit protection technologies
• Understanding of industry standards, certification requirements, and third-party approval processes (UL or equivalent)
• Experience working within manufacturing environments and product industrialization processes
• Proven project management experience with ability to lead multiple development activities simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets and documentation tools
• Experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 2D/3D CAD software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product testing capabilities
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and customer-facing teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment
• Medium Voltage Fuse experience is preferred
