Job summary

The Ohio State University in Columbus invites applications for a Research Senior Associate in Neuroscience within the Medicine | School of Biomedical Sciences. The role designs and executes advanced experiments to study neural circuits of thermoregulation and fever, using molecular, cellular, and imaging approaches, under the supervision of the PI at the Wexner Medical Center.

Responsibilities include data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant support, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher with relevant research experience.
• Considerable experience in biological/health research capacity.
• Experience with zebrafish and functional calcium imaging is a plus.
• Doctoral degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designs, executes and manages neuroscience research projects.
• Collaborates with PI to set goals and objectives for studies.
• Performs complex laboratory experiments and data analysis.
• Plans and conducts 2-photon calcium imaging and molecular analyses.
• Writes and presents research results at conferences and for publications.
• Contributes to grant proposals and budget management.
• Oversees lab safety, procurement and staff supervision.
