Job summary

Ohio State University’s Medicine | School of Biomedical Sciences seeks a Research Associate to join a foundational neuroscience lab. You will participate in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in a laboratory led by Dr. Bin Gu, focusing on epilepsy and using advanced molecular techniques.

The role includes coordinating postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, maintaining equipment, and contributing to publications and proposals for extramural funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; 3 years with Associate’s Degree, or 1 year with Bachelor's.
• Ability to translate and apply knowledge in biological/health sciences research.
• Experience in a biological/health science research capacity preferred; miRNA and RT-qPCR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage neuroscience research projects in a basic biology lab.
• Design and execute complex laboratory experiments and advanced molecular techniques.
• Manage and handle laboratory animals; coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret research data; assist with publications and reports.
• Coordinate activities of students and staff; assist with grant proposals.
