Frederick County Government in Maryland is seeking a Network Engineer III (Telephony) to design, implement, and maintain the County's enterprise network and telephony infrastructure. The role leads complex projects and acts as a technical resource for operations, security, and reliability across LAN/WAN, wireless, and PBX systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years designing, implementing, and maintaining network or telephony infrastructure.
• Substitutions for education/experience allowed: Associate’s Degree +7 years or Master’s Degree +3 years.
• Experience leading complex network projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the County's enterprise network and telephony infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex network and telephony issues affecting operations.
• Develop diagrams, standards, configurations, inventories, and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders on projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and staff.
• Evaluate new networking technologies and oversee upgrades and migrations.
