Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Network Technician III to monitor, install and maintain our HP/enterprise network across campus and remote locations. You will diagnose and resolve first-level issues, configure essential services, and support on-call rotations to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for servers and devices.

The role emphasizes vendor coordination, subnet design, and ensuring security and performance of data networks in Alabama’s leading health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage network monitoring, operations, installation and maintenance for local and remote locations.
• Diagnose, resolve and document first-level network problems.
• Configure DNS, DHCP, NTP and VLANs; manage network assets and inventory.
• Install, test and troubleshoot campus and remote-campus network cabling and equipment.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and after-hours rotation.
• Collaborate with Network Architects to design IP subnets and address plans.
• Lead and mentor junior team members; assist with vendor management.
• Ensure connectivity for servers, workstations, telephony, and other devices.
