Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO seeks a Senior Network Software Engineer I/II with a Secret clearance to lead software development for space-based networking solutions. You will coordinate with suppliers, manage embedded software for spacecraft subsystems, and ensure high-security network integrity across programs.

The role reports to the Head of Flight Software and requires strong collaboration with engineering teams to meet program milestones, with a base salary range reflecting Colorado pay

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar technical discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience for Senior II.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network software.
• Experience using Jira for software development management.
• Active Secret security clearance, with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices on a constellation of spacecraft.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors to develop and test an integrated system.
• Interface with subcontractors and internal teams to develop product plans and meet milestones.
• Design and develop simulation and test approaches for constellation networking.
• Define KPIs for contractors and internal teams.
• Set the battle rhythm for subcontractors for feature drops.
• Develop and maintain staffing plans with senior leadership.
• Plan major integration points and testing between teams.
• Drive best practices for feedback collection and improvements.
• Maintain software development standards to meet customer requirements.
