Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Network Software Engineer I with an active Secret clearance to lead software development for space communication systems.

The role involves managing embedded software for routers, radios, and laser communications across a spacecraft constellation, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and establishing development plans to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering or similar technical discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant work industry experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network software.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Active Secret security clearance, with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
• U.S citizenship required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices on a constellation of spacecraft.
• Interface with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to develop and maintain product development plans and meet milestones.
• Design and develop simulation and test approaches for constellation networking.
• Define KPIs for contractors and internal development teams.
• Plan major integration points and testing between teams.
• Develop and maintain staffing plans with senior leadership.
