Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Sr Network Services Architect to lead architecture for FDA network services, including wired/wireless LAN, WAN, and cloud connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments. The role requires senior technical direction, with a focus on security, performance, and reliability, and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams in a DMV-area setting.

The position is onsite/hybrid, with proximity to Bethesda, MD and Gaithersburg, MD. Requires CCNP and U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with 8+ years of network engineering/architecture experience.
3–5 years in a senior architect or technical lead role on large enterprise networks.
Hands-on architecture across LAN, WAN, and cloud connectivity in multi-site environments.
Strong knowledge of connecting on-premise data centers to AWS/Azure/GCP.
Experience with network monitoring tools and capacity planning.
Experience managing multi-site enterprise network environments with load balancing, DNS, and VPNs.

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior technical architect for enterprise Data Network and Communication Services.
Lead network design, engineering, and deployment activities during upgrades.
Architect and optimize connectivity between FDA data centers and cloud landing zones.
Own the technical roadmap for network modernization and policy changes.
Provide senior technical oversight of network operations and services.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure end-to-end service delivery.
Mentor Network Engineers and support incident/problem management.
