Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to lead the design, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. This role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, High Availability, Cisco switching, and Cortex XSIAM integration.

The Senior Engineer will serve as a technical escalation point for complex incidents, lead architecture initiatives, and partner with SOC, infrastructure, cloud, and leadership teams to reduce risk while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 8+ years of related experience.
• 7+ years in network engineering or security operations.
• 5+ years Palo Alto firewall experience in large environments.
• Experience with Panorama, HA designs, and device management.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing, VPN, and network-security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management using Panorama and templates.
• Design security policies with zero-trust and least-privilege.
• Troubleshoot NAT, VPN, App-IDs, and Threat Prevention policies.
• Lead segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and validate HA deployments and failover testing.
• Mentor engineers and lead complex security projects.
