Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Senior Network & Security Engineer to design and manage enterprise network-security infrastructure, focusing on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, and Cisco switching. You will lead policy design, HA deployments, and secure segmentation, coordinating with SOC and cloud teams to minimize risk while maintaining high availability.

You will act as a hands-on technical leader, mentor engineers, and drive improvements across incident response, logging, and telemetry integrations with Cortex

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
• 8+ years in network engineering or security infrastructure operations.
• 5+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in production environments.
• Advanced experience with Palo Alto Panorama and multi-device policy management.
• Strong expertise in HA deployments and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments (PAN-OS).
• Own centralized firewall management through Panorama and templates.
• Design security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, decryption, URL filtering, and app-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Develop secure controls between users, servers, and cloud resources.
• Architect and test High Availability deployments and failover strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead incident response efforts.
