Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our team supporting the DoD. You will design secure networks, select hardware and software, and ensure interoperability across platforms while focusing on security and reliability.

You will collaborate with SMEs, customers, vendors, and users to translate strategic goals into practical network requirements, plan acquisitions, installations, configurations, and ongoing maintenance. Security-first mindset essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of network security experience in large enterprises or government.
• 3+ years in firewall and enterprise security design, including IDS/IPS, SIEM.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco or Juniper firewalls.
• Knowledge of packet analysis with Wireshark.
• Experience with monitoring/log analysis and boundary protection.
• Secret clearance required.
• HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs, customers, vendors, and users to define network requirements.
• Plan acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components.
• Resolve interoperability issues across platforms and support hardware acquisition.
• Apply backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking with security focus.
• Engage in hands-on problem solving and learn new tools and skills.
