Job summary

Noblis is seeking a Security Engineer to support the FAA Telecommunications and Integrated Services Group. The role focuses on cybersecurity-driven network architecture, policy-aligned reviews, and implementation of Zero Trust and SDN across the FTI environment.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in cybersecurity or network security, experience with NIST/FISMA, and the ability to deliver support for ATO packages and continuous monitoring within NAS contexts.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally within FAA or transportation.
• Hands-on network engineering or architecture experience with boundary protection, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, IPv4/IPv6, WAN/LAN.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, NIST 800-53 rev 5).
• Ability to evaluate security concepts for large-scale, safety-critical NAS environments.
• Advising on defense-in-depth, Zero Trust CONOPS, SD-WANs, and emerging tech.
• Ability to develop system security plans, risk assessments, and security docs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and guide network architecture for cybersecurity from ground up.
• Review system configs, firewall rules, and network paths per FAA standards.
• Lead transitions: IPv4→IPv6, microwave refreshes from security/architecture view.
• Support Zero Trust, SDN, defense-in-depth in enterprise solutions.
• Bridge FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers (network, security, cloud).
• Evaluate vendor architectures and provide expert recommendations per federal policy.
