Job summary

Noblis is seeking a Security Engineer to provide expert-level security engineering for the FAA’s TIS group, guiding architecture and network design to harden systems. The role emphasizes defense-in-depth, Zero Trust, and compliant implementation across FTI environments.

Ideal candidates have FAA/transportation experience, strong RMF/FISMA knowledge, and the ability to bridge cyber stakeholders with infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government programs (FAA/transportation preferred).
  • Hands-on network engineering or architecture with boundary protection design and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications infra, IPv4/IPv6, WAN/LAN environments.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 rev 5).
  • Ability to evaluate network and system security for large-scale safety-critical systems (NAS).
  • Advising on defense-in-depth, Zero Trust, SD-WANs, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support FAA TIS group with expert security engineering across the FTI environment.
  • Analyze and guide network architecture to build cybersecurity from the ground up.
  • Review system configurations, firewalls, and network paths against standards.
  • Lead technology transitions (IPv4 to IPv6, microwave refreshes) from security view.
  • Integrate Zero Trust, SDN, and defense-in-depth into enterprise solutions.
