Job summary

McKesson seeks a Senior Network Security Specialist to design and advance secure, scalable network infrastructure across enterprise, hybrid-cloud, and on-prem environments. You will shape security architecture and set technical standards.

You will partner with Security, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and stakeholders to translate needs into practical designs, evaluate new tech, and strengthen connectivity while ensuring resilience and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 7+ years in network engineering or enterprise infrastructure strategy.
• Experience designing secure enterprise networks across hybrid-cloud and on-prem.
• Hands-on with enterprise firewall technologies: policy design, config, admin, optimization.
• Experience applying Zero Trust, segmentation, micro-segmentation in network design.
• Experience with routing, switching, and TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, or SD-WAN.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams, design standards, docs, and security reviews.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CISSP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design secure network architectures for hybrid-cloud and on-prem environments using Zero Trust and segmentation.
• Lead network security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and development of reusable security patterns.
• Architect and optimize firewall and perimeter security capabilities (Palo Alto, Zscaler, EdgeConnect).
• Design secure workforce and device access using Zero Trust Network Access, VPN, NAC, and secure gateways.
• Strengthen threat detection through network analytics, IDS/IPS, telemetry, and security monitoring.
• Evaluate technologies and vendor solutions to inform roadmaps and investments.
• Partner with Security, EA, Infrastructure, and operations to improve resilience and business continuity.
• Provide technical leadership during incidents, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
