Job summary

Swift is seeking an experienced security-focused network engineer in Virginia to design, implement, and manage Fortinet and Check Point firewall environments within a hybrid work pattern.

You will collaborate across teams, automate tasks, and contribute to network architecture while supporting DevOps practices and security standards. A strong background in SSL/TLS, policy management, and automation will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8–10 years of technical operational support experience.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Firewall management platforms Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Checkpoint Smart-1.
• Familiarity with Algosec Security Management System.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN and Zero Trust.
• Troubleshooting complex network flows, interconnectivity, performance and configuration issues.
• Provisions/executes firewall requests per security policies on all environments.
• Familiarity with IaC concepts and scripting (Shell, Python, Perl).
• Familiarity with Ansible automation platform and source repos (Git/Bitbucket).
• CI/CD knowledge and Jenkins familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, configure, upgrade, and maintain Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls with virtual instances.
• Collaborate with team to implement and operate solutions, following DevOps/Agile practices.
• Deploy infrastructure and network software according to change management processes.
• Interact with internal/external customers to ensure excellent satisfaction.
• Automate and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as a technical lead to influence network architecture and implementation.
