Job summary

The Swift Group, LLC is seeking a Network / Cyber Security Engineer to join a mission-driven team in the Tidewater region of Virginia. This hands-on role focuses on secure networking, cyber defense, and architectural analysis across multiple mission areas.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, test, and maintain secure operating systems, networks, and database products.
• Support a wide range of network facilities and components including routers, gateways, and management systems.
• Conduct risk assessment and provide design recommendations.
• Troubleshoot security issues including architecture and network access.
• Analyze systems for malware, misuse, or unauthorized activity and provide engineering support.
• Utilize encryption, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis techniques.
• Translate customer requirements into total system solutions within constraints.
• Establish, document, and maintain baselines and configuration items.
• Integrate new architectural features and provide engineering recommendations; resolve integration/testing issues.

We are looking for a Network / Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic program providing unique technology expertise to multiple mission areas across software development, data engineering, technical integration, network engineering, and quick reaction development. The technical work is hands-on, lab discovery focused, and multi-disciplinary. The work location is the Tidewater region of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, test, and maintain state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products
• Support a wide range of network facilities to include physical media, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, bridges, gateways, digital servers, line drivers, telecommunications components, and network management components
• Conduct risk assessment and provide recommendations for application design
• Troubleshoot a range of security issues including architecture, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
• Analyze systems for malware, misuse, or unauthorized activity. Provide engineering support such as network-based instruction detection for systems
• Utilize encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research
• Convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Establish, document, and maintain system baselines and configuration management items
• Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures; design cyber security architectural artifacts; provide architectural analysis and relate existing system to future needs and trends; embed advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction; provide engineering recommendations; and resolve integration/testing issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred); equivalent experience may be substituted
• 10+ years of demonstrated combined network engineering experience and cyber security experience
• Knowledge of ICDs related to cyber security including (e.g., ICD 503)
• Ability to present technical approaches and findings clearly and effectively
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders concurrently
• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
