Job summary

Equinix, Inc. in Dallas seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to lead network platform testing and certification. You will design rigorous test methodologies, build large staging topologies, and validate architectures to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.

Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Observability to accelerate validation and deployment. This senior IC role combines network infrastructure and software engineering to influence the direction of NOS features,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Automation.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Related Field preferred.
• Excellent understanding of OSI layers with routing and switching in multi-vendor environments.
• Deep proficiency in service provider and data center networking protocols.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, and related technologies.
• Proficient with network automation tools and programming (Python, Ansible, PyATS, Netmiko)
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes in lab and production environments.

Responsibilities

• NOS & Feature Certification: design, execute, and document test plans before production.
• Architecture Simulation: build large-scale staging environments mimicking service provider/data center topologies.
• Regression & Scale testing across multi-vendor environments for reliability and performance.
• Vendor Liaison: collaborate with vendors to track bugs and influence roadmaps.
• Production Readiness: develop safe deployment playbooks and rollback strategies.
• Architecture & Feature Research: evaluate emerging network technologies and vendor roadmaps.
