Job summary

FEDITC, LLC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the DHS HSEN within 50 miles of a DHS facility. The role blends hands-on engineering with architectural responsibility to ensure enterprise networks and applications are proactively monitored, secure, and highly available across a complex hybrid environment.

This hybrid role requires working remote most of the time, with periodic on-site DHS office visits. A United States citizenship and EOD eligibility are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in network engineering, monitoring or observability.
• 3-5+ years with enterprise monitoring platforms (ScienceLogic, NetScout, VOSS, Dynatrace, SolarWinds).
• Strong SNMP, NetFlow, syslog, TCP/IP, ICMP knowledge.
• Experience onboarding monitoring for routers, switches, firewalls, cloud VMs, and Kubernetes.
• Automation experience with Ansible and/or Python is a plus.
• Proficient in Linux and Windows environments; capable of documenting networks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate enterprise network monitoring and observability platforms.
• Integrate monitoring tools with network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes.
• Develop automation workflows (Ansible, Python) for onboarding and monitoring.
• Configure alerting and event management to reduce noise.
• Troubleshoot complex monitoring/performance issues.
• Collaborate with vendors and operations teams; mentor junior engineers.
• Provide documentation and diagrams; participate in architectural reviews.
• Support on-site DHS office visits as required.
