Job summary

Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) seeks a Network Manager at the North Central Office to lead and execute the district's network strategy, ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for instruction and operations across campuses. Immediate start with responsibility for incident response and staff supervision.

The role requires strong enterprise networking experience, Cisco Firepower expertise, and the ability to coordinate with systems teams on identity/services impacting network access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or closely related field).
• 5+ years of progressive experience supporting networks in large environments, preferably K–12.
• Proficiency with enterprise networking: Cisco switching/routing, VLANs, firewalls, VOIP, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to collaborate with others and communicate professionally by phone/in person.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Manage district LAN/WAN across multiple campuses for reliable access.
• Configure/maintain Cisco Firepower NGFWs, including VPN, logging, and policies.
• Configure/maintain Cisco and Arista switches and VLANs for segmentation.
• Support Cisco and Arista access points and wireless connectivity.
• Provide Tier-3 escalation for complex network/VOIP issues and document resolutions.
• Plan/network changes and maintain diagrams and documentation.
• Supervise three direct reports and coordinate with vendors.
