Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer - Multi-Cloud

Athelas; San Francisco (CA); Presencial; USD 150 000 - 190 000; Tempo integral

Resumo da oferta

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Network Infrastructure team to own the networking backbone across multi-cloud, on-prem, and edge environments. You’ll design, build, and operate the network layer used by all engineering teams, driving end-to-end architecture and hands-on implementation.

The role emphasizes VPC design, Kubernetes networking, service mesh, and secure, observable networking with GitOps. Strong cloud and kernel networking expertise are essential for success.

Qualificações

• 6+ years of experience in cloud native networking or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep expertise in TCP/UDP, BGP, IPsec, NAT, firewalls, VLANs, bridges, and TUN/TAP.
• Experience with public cloud networking (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native networking (CNI, eBPF, Gateway API, Envoy, Istio).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Experience designing and operating VPN and site-to-site connectivity at scale.
• Experience with BGP route filtering, multi-path routing, and traffic engineering.
• Experience with network security: firewalls, WAF, DDoS mitigation, segmentation, and zero-trust.
• Experience with network observability and performance troubleshooting.

Responsabilidades

• Own the multi-cloud network foundation: VPC design, routing, transit hubs, IPAM and IPv6, and multi-region failover across cloud providers.
• Build hybrid and on-prem connectivity: IPsec VPN, BGP, Interconnect/Direct Connect, and traffic engineering.
• Design the Kubernetes networking layer: CNI (Cilium, eBPF), Gateway API, Envoy, Istio, and mTLS.
• Run the edge: load balancing, DNS, WAF, DDoS mitigation, and rate limiting.
• Secure the network by default: policy-as-code, zero-trust, encryption in transit, and HIPAA/SOC 2 alignment.
• Own network observability: flow logs, packet capture, OpenTelemetry integration.
• Treat the network as code: GitOps with Argo CD, pre-merge validation, and self-serve modules.
• Debug hard problems: NAT, connection tracking, MTU, and kernel networking.
