Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer for its Space Systems Group at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

You will design, deploy, and secure the on‑premises network and infrastructure supporting our platform services, collaborating with cross‑functional engineers to ensure reliable mission delivery. Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance at time of application.
• BS degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience engineering and operating enterprise networks and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Current CompTIA Security+ or DoD approved IA certification.
• Hands‑on experience with switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, network segmentation, and TCP/IP services.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers, including scripting and operational troubleshooting.
• Experience with virtualization and enterprise storage; familiarity with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Azure Stack Hub.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container networking; ability to support cluster infrastructure.
• Experience with automation and IaC, including PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, Microsoft Configuration Manager.
• Ability to independently resolve production issues and document solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, secure, and maintain on‑prem networks for the platform."
• Troubleshoot and optimize network performance and reliability across compute, storage, and platform services.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, including patching and access controls.
• Support virtualization, compute, and enterprise storage; work with private cloud tech.
• Collaborate with Kubernetes engineers on cluster networking and connectivity issues.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, and Bicep.
• Monitor health, availability, capacity, and observability; prevent disruptions.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents spanning networking to applications.
• Apply security hardening and change management with cybersecurity teams.
• Develop network diagrams, baselines, procedures, and guides.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement integrated infrastructure solutions.
