Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks aHardware Engineer to design next-gen network switches. You will specify documentation, lead reviews, and architect block diagrams with ASIC suppliers to deliver high-performance networking hardware.

You will collaborate with product management and software teams, lead bring-up and validation, and work with cross-functional groups to bring products to market while addressing customer issues and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering with relevant networking hardware design experience.
• Experience with multi-gigabit Ethernet and Power-over Ethernet (PoE).
• Knowledge of schematics, layout, bring-up, and debugging at the system level.

Responsibilities

• Specify technical product documentation and lead reviews.
• Architect system block diagrams with major Networking ASIC suppliers.
• Design Networking Switches, review schematics and bring-up, troubleshoot and validate.
• Collaborate with component suppliers on next-gen high-performance tech.
• Work with product management and software teams to define next-gen product.
• Coordinate with ID/ME/Compliance/SCM during NPIs and bring to market.
• Triage and root-cause major customer issues in sustaining phase.
• Participate in process improvements and innovations.
