Job summary

ActioNet is seeking a Network and Communications Field Technician Level III to lead the execution of structured cabling and wireless projects across DoD environments in the San Diego region. This senior role requires 4+ years in network installations, leadership, and hands-on troubleshooting.

Travel up to 20% is possible; security clearance sponsorship is available, with eligibility to work on secure DoD facilities. Target salary ranges from $100k to $135k per year.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in field installation and lead roles.
• Certifications: BICSI, CompTIA Network+, CCNA.
• Ability to manage site execution and coordinate logistics.
• Expertise with CAT5e/CAT6 and Wi‑Fi deployments in secure environments.
• Eligible to work on DoD and secure government sites; clearance potential.
• Read and interpret LAN/WAN plans and schematics; perform QA.
• Proficient with wireless site survey tools and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and validation of structured cabling and wireless networks.
• Oversee field crews; ensure efficiency, accuracy and safety.
• Act as technical lead during deployments; coordinate logistics and go‑live.
• Provide guidance on hardware installs (switches/routers/APs).
• Lead wireless site surveys; validate survey data and plans.
• Mentor Field Technicians I/II; assign tasks and give feedback.
• Serve as main field contact for clients; lead status updates.
• Review as-built docs, test reports, and cabling maps for QA/audit.
