Job summary

Hertz is seeking a Senior Network Field Engineer to lead the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions across global field locations. You will blend hands‑on network operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization with infrastructure modernization initiatives.

In this role, you’ll design LAN/WAN and wireless solutions, lead network initiatives with cross‑functional teams, and ensure security, compliance, and high availability across on‑prem and cloud environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network solutions in large‑scale environments.
• Strong expertise in LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless networking, routing, switching, TCP/IP, and enterprise infrastructure design.
• Experience managing secure on‑premises and cloud networks (Azure/AWS), with firewall, segmentation, secure remote access, and Zero Trust knowledge.
• Hands‑on experience with network automation and IaC (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Advanced wireless networking design, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting in enterprise settings.
• Experience with Fortinet networking and security solutions (FortiGate/ FortiSwitch/ FortiAP/ FortiAnalyzer/ FortiManager).
• Proven leadership in infrastructure refreshes, modernization, lifecycle programs, and vendor relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational support for the global Hertz field network with Tier III troubleshooting.
• Design and deliver LAN, WAN, and wireless network solutions for field projects with site‑specific implementation.
• Serve as the technical lead for network initiatives with cross‑functional teams.
• Drive network security and resilience by implementing monitoring and remediation controls.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and reliability to meet SLAs and compliance.
• Communicate status and recommendations to stakeholders and mentor team members.
