Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Technical Escalation Engineer (Federal Networking - Switching) to lead critical escalations in secure environments, focusing on Juniper EX/QFX switching platforms in DoD/IC contexts. Location: Herndon, VA (Onsite); Clearance: TS/SCI; Citizenship: US.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise networking in large-scale production environments.
• 5+ years of switching experience.
• 5+ years in a senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3, or Advanced Services role.
• Deep expertise with Juniper EX and QFX platforms.
• Strong knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, L2/L3 networking, and data center fabrics.
• Experience supporting mission-critical Federal/DoD/IC environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of high-priority and executive-level customer escalations.
• Serve as a senior GovTAC escalation point for Federal customers using Juniper switching technologies.
• Drive troubleshooting during Severity 1 incidents and outages.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware domains.
• Analyze packet captures, logs, protocol behavior, and diagnostics to isolate issues.
• Reproduce issues in lab environments and partner with Engineering to identify defects and validate fixes.
• Develop mitigations, workarounds, and long-term corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering on defect identification and product improvements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop documentation, knowledge base, and scalable support processes for efficiency.

Senior Technical Escalation Engineer (Federal Networking - Switching)

HPE is seeking a Senior Technical Escalation Engineer to support mission-critical Federal customer environments leveraging Juniper Enterprise and Data Center networking solutions. In this highly visible role, you will lead the resolution of complex customer issues, drive root cause analysis, and serve as the senior technical authority during critical outages and executive-level escalations. This position is focused on supporting Juniper Enterprise and Data Center Switching technologies, primarily EX and QFX platforms, within highly secure Federal and Intelligence Community environments. The successful candidate will possess deep switching expertise, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and experience managing complex customer escalations in production networks. You will partner closely with customers, Engineering, Product Management, and Support teams to resolve technical challenges, improve product quality, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Lead resolution of high-priority and executive-level customer escalations.

• Drive operational excellence by developing technical documentation, knowledge base articles, repeatable troubleshooting methodologies, and scalable support processes that improve team effectiveness and streamline future customer support and escalation activities

Requirements

• TS/SCI security clearance at time of hire
• Comfortable being on‑site 5 days a week in Herndon, VA from 9AM‑5PM EST.
• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience supporting large‑scale production environments.
• 5+ years of switching experience
• 5+ years in a senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3 Support, or Advanced Services role.
• Deep expertise with Juniper EX and QFX platforms.
• Strong knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and data center fabrics.
• Demonstrated experience performing advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware domains.
• Strong packet analysis and protocol troubleshooting skills, including analysis of packet captures, logs, and system diagnostics.
• Experience reproducing customer‑reported issues in laboratory environments and partnering directly with Engineering teams to identify defects and validate fixes
• Experience supporting mission‑critical Federal, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other secure environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage technical and executive stakeholders during critical situations.
• Preferable Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Juniper EX and QFX platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting EVPN/VXLAN fabrics in production environments.
• Experience working directly with engineering teams to identify software and hardware defects, validate fixes, and improve product quality.
• Python or network automation experience.
• JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE certifications.
