Job summary

The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) in Oklahoma City is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise WAN and wireless mesh networks. The role emphasizes SD-WAN, routing, and secure remote access within a large government infrastructure.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of enterprise WAN experience, strong routing and wireless mesh expertise, and familiarity with cloud networking and IaC tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information services, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands on enterprise network engineering experience focused on WAN technology.
• Preference for SD-WAN platforms and carrier-grade connectivity.
• Experience with wireless mesh deployment or support and routing protocols, QoS, and high-availability design.
• Cloud networking experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern hybrid connectivity models.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform) or SDN platforms.
• Certifications like CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
• Experience with network automation, scripting, and monitoring platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize enterprise WAN solutions (MPLS, broadband, LTE/5G, SD-WAN).
• Lead deployment, tuning, and optimization of wireless mesh networks.
• Collaborate with network architects on long-term strategy, standards, and reference architectures.
• Implement routing technologies (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and secure remote access solutions.
• Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for WAN and wireless issues.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and after-hours production support.
• Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and resiliency testing.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices.
