Hyeur in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced network engineer with strong Riverbed background to focus on WAN compression, acceleration, and application delivery. You will work with Application and Database teams to ensure systems meet RPO/RTO objectives and have robust disaster recovery capabilities.

Responsibilities include defining standards for Riverbed deployments, converged data center tech, and leading projects while coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Job description

Must have strong, demonstrable experience with Wide Area Networking, routing and routed protocols, and network services such as WAN optimization, load balancing, and network security

Minimum of 3 years' experience with converged data center technologies (e.g., VCE Vblock, Cisco FlexPod/UCS)

New York Weekend resource for Thursday through Monday weekend work

Position Summary

Act as subject matter expert with a strong Riverbed background to focus mainly on WAN compression and acceleration, Application Delivery and Performance Management. The duties would also include responsibilities for Lifecycle management to make sure the environments are operating at optimal efficiency. The candidate will work closely with our Application and Database teams to make sure the systems will meet our RPO/RTO objectives. They must possess strong troubleshooting skills and have prior disaster recovery experience.

Principal Responsibilities

• Define/refine common standards for the companies Riverbed implementations.
• Converged experience on Cisco UCS, Storage, VCE vblock, Flexprod and Vmware experience
• Lead/execute project delivery for implementation of new architectural / design standards; manage self and (as required) others' delivery of work against budget and timeline requirements.
• Create as-built documentation.
• Conduct and facilitate transition to operations, providing subject matter expertise in an educational manner.
• Collaborate with peers to improve the overall team delivery of network engineering services.
• Follow the processes and methodologies for delivering projects.
• Work closely with all projects stakeholder groups to coordinate the project milestones.
• Understand and translate cross-team dependencies into actionable plans.
• Proactively identify and manage risks.
• Plan for an effective risk mitigation.
• Track projects against approved budgets and report on forecasts and variances.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner. Demonstrate an appropriate sense of urgency

Experience: Hands-on experience with Riverbed products

• Must have strong, demonstrable experience with Wide Area Networking, routing and routed protocols, and network WAN optimization background..
• At least five years experience in a technical support position, preferably with a networking technology company.
• In depth knowledge and hands on experience with SAN, NAS, NFS, SCSI, RAID, device drivers, Linux and Windows file systems
• Experience reading and understanding packet captures using Sniffer and/or Ethereal/Wireshark and/or Cascade Pilot and/or AppTransaction or similar
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.

• Must possess an understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, application development & maintenance, software testing, and IT architecture as they relate to a cohesive, enterprise IP strategy.

Education, Training &/or Certification

• Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCDE, CCDP, etc. are given a preference
• Four-year degree in a business-oriented or technical discipline preferred
