Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. in Laurel, MD seeks a senior network engineer with TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance to design and oversee voice, data, and video networks across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include designing interconnection, implementing security procedures, and coordinating large projects with vendors and IT staff. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with Arista, Aruba, Plexxi, F5, and Dell networking gear, plus Nessus, CloudVision, and other monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with Arista, Aruba, Plexxi, F5 load balancers and Dell networking devices.
• Knowledge of STE/STN requirements and STIG/Security mandates; Nessus usage.
• Familiar with network monitoring tools CloudVision, MFNA, and WhatsUp Gold.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans & oversees the implementation of voice, data, & video networks to support campus-wide requirements.
• Customize design and processes to meet unique customer requirements within ITS standards.
• Troubleshoots and resolves network problems across multiple locations including international links.
• Collaborates with senior IT staff, vendors, and management to gather requirements and resolve issues.
• Participates in enforcing security procedures to mitigate intrusions and incidents.
• Creates and updates network documentation and standard procedures for IT pros.
• Manages large, complex projects coordinating staff, contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinates outages with local and external organizations.
• Conducts site surveys and collects requirements for complex network design and resolution.
• Designs interconnections based on customer, carrier and backbone requirements.
