Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer to support large-scale, global network operations and modernization for the U.S. Department of State. The role involves 24x7 operations, security integration, service management, and customer engagement across regions.

Required: Active TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years in IT/network roles, CCNP, and DoD 8570 IAT II. Familiarity with SDN/SD-WAN, cloud platforms, and ITSM tools like ServiceNow is expected.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline or combination of degree and experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ technical experience.
• Aligned CCNP certifications.
• Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
• Experience with load balancing, routing, switching, firewalls, congestion/prioritization, or micro-segmentation.
• Understanding of SDN/SD-WAN, container networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE, Avaya or similar.
• Experience with enterprise WiFi environments and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience with ITSM workflows (ServiceNow) and DevOps/IaC (Python, Git).

Responsibilities

• Support Network Architect and program leadership to define outputs, outcomes, and adoption framework for project creation and implementation.
• Provide steady state support for current environment network operations and modernization readiness.
• Define enterprise architecture, strategy, and roadmap for network capabilities.
• Leverage secure, scalable, and AI-augmented solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and support.
• Support governance frameworks and operational standards for hardware, processes, and procedures.
• Develop architecture artifacts, guidance, metrics, and telemetry-driven reporting.
