Job summary

General Dynamics - IT seeks a Network Engineer to support 24x7 global network operations and modernization for a U.S. government contract.

You will work with the Network Architect on enterprise architecture, strategy, and modernization initiatives, leveraging secure, scalable, and AI-augmented solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and operations. The role requires TS/SCI clearance, a related bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of experience, and CCNP with Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT II.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of technical experience in networking/telecom.
• CCNP and Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• Experience with load balancing, routing, switching, firewalls, QoS, and micro-segmentation.
• Understanding of Zero Trust, NIST, and government security standards.
• Experience with SDN/SD-WAN and cloud-focused networks.
• Experience with major vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE, Avaya).
• Experience supporting enterprise WiFi environments and cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience integrating ITSM workflows (ServiceNow).
• DevOps, IaC, Python, Git familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Support Network Architect and leadership to define project outputs and adoption framework.
• Provide steady-state and modernization support for global network operations.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture, strategy, and roadmap for network capabilities.
• Leverage secure, scalable, automated, and AI-augmented provisioning and monitoring.
• Support governance, lifecycle controls, and operational standards for hardware and processes.
• Create architecture artifacts, implementation guidance, metrics and telemetry-driven reporting.
