Strategic Business Systems is seeking a Sr Network Engineer SME to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role supports mission-critical intelligence and IT networks worldwide. It is onsite in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Required Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI (willing to sit for CI Poly)

Required Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements—one Level II certification and one Computing Environment (CE) certification.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure supporting INSCOM customer enclaves.
2. Perform daily operational tasks via ticket system.
3. Prepare network topology diagrams, write SOPs, maintenance plans, and provide status reports.
4. Troubleshoot network issues and device configurations, coordinate with administrators.
5. Design technical solutions and support GISA and INSCOM requirements.
6. Collaborate in a team environment, share methodologies, and build relationships.
7. Deliver technical presentations from executive to technical staff levels.
8. Maintain system administrator skills with UNIX, Microsoft, or applications.
9. Understand LAN/WAN protocols, switching, routing, security (Layer 4-7, firewalls, DDoS).
10. Recognized as an industry leader, sought for advice and guidance.
11. Support complex problems with analysis, research, and advice.
12. Coordinate with contract and government personnel to define problems and solutions.
13. Analyze user needs, determine functional requirements, and recommend designs.
14. Generate technical reports, briefings, and documentation.
15. Identify emerging technologies for process improvements.
16. Write and update project documentation, procedures, and training materials.
17. May serve as technical team or task lead.

Education: High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 years, or Bachelor's Degree with 6 years.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in fast-paced, high-quality environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting in Cisco, Palo Alto, VPN, DMVPN, etc.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint.
• Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies, network traffic analysis tools.
• Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models.
• Experience in large SDLC environments.
• Security Clearance: TS/SCI.
• Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II CE, Sec+CE, Cisco CCNP Data Center/Enterprise/Security, Palo Alto NSE.
