Job summary

Anne Arundel County – Information Technology Department is seeking a senior network engineer to lead hands-on engineering, configuration, and support of the county's enterprise network infrastructure. You will draft, build, and validate configurations for routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems, including NAC and ISE policies.

The role involves Tier 4 troubleshooting and multi‑phased IT projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with six or more years of experience in electronic data processing systems analysis and design.
• Experience configuring enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and NAC.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, and subnetting.
• Ability to draft configurations and document topology for review and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Build and validate configurations for enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, optical gear, wireless LAN controllers, and access points.
• Deploy and maintain Cisco ISE, 802.1X port security, and NAC policies to control network access.
• Provide Tier 4 support to diagnose complex enterprise outages and vendor escalations.
• Lead network rollout projects, site surveys, and heat mapping; maintain topology diagrams and policy docs.
• Collaborate with field technicians and vendors to ensure successful deployments and troubleshooting.
