Job summary

Anakim Consulting is hiring a Senior Network Engineer to lead a team of engineers, analysts, and technicians in the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise networks for a federal customer. You will oversee ALE OmniSwitch administration, Fortinet firewall policies, FortiAnalyzer logging, and 802.1X NAC with ClearPass, while ensuring security and reliability across multi-layer network infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate's degree in a related discipline (Network Engineering, CS, IT)
• 10–15 years of related network engineering experience; 5+ years with enterprise network engineering/administration
• U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to prioritize workload
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and independent decision-making abilities
• Excellent written and oral communication across levels
• Able to perform physical tasks (lift 50 lbs, climb, work in data centers)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of network engineers, analysts, and technicians on technical projects and operations.
• Perform ALE OmniSwitch administration: configuration, VLANs, spanning tree, LAG, lifecycle management.
• Manage switch infra via OmniVista: templates, dashboards, firmware rollouts.
• Configure Fortinet FortiGate policies, routing, HA, and security profiles.
• Use FortiAnalyzer for centralized log analysis and compliance reporting.
• Design 802.1X NAC policies using ClearPass with EAP-TLS authentication.
• Collaborate with IT teams on security, connectivity, and infrastructure changes.
• Maintain topology diagrams, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.
