Job Summary

We are seeking a customer facing Senior Network Engineer with expert-level knowledge of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls (PCNSE) and Cisco routing and switching (CCNP) to support our growing client base. The role is hybrid, requiring a candidate based in Southern California who can meet with customers onsite 2-3 times per week in the Orange County and San Diego areas. Experience with Arista Networks is a plus but not required.

This position will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions for our customers while ensuring the highest standards of security and performance.

Candidate must be able to successfully complete a full background check prior to employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation:
• Architect, deploy, and maintain robust network solutions leveraging Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and Cisco infrastructure.
• Develop scalable designs for enterprise-level networks, including LAN/WAN, routing, VXLAN, and switching configurations.
• Collaborate closely with customers to gather requirements, provide recommendations, and implement tailored solutions.
• Conduct onsite assessments and offer expert guidance for optimized network performance.
• Firewall Management:
• Configure and manage Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, including Panorama, GlobalProtect, and advanced threat prevention features.
• Design and implement security policies to safeguard against evolving cyber threats.
• Routing and Switching:
• Oversee advanced Cisco routing and switching configurations, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues for both internal and customer environments.
• Arista Networks (Nice to Have):
• Support and optimize Arista Networks solutions as needed for customers leveraging this technology.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Create detailed network diagrams, configurations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer-specific requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
• Certifications such as PCNSE or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Cisco Routing & Switching:
• Expert-level knowledge of Cisco IOS and NX-OS, with proficiency in BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and advanced routing techniques.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are strongly desired.
• Southern California Residency:
• Must reside in Southern California and be able to travel to customer sites 2-3 times per week.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Arista Networks:
• Knowledge of Arista routing, switching, and automation capabilities is a plus.
• Scripting and Automation:
• Experience with Python, Ansible, or other tools for network automation is desirable.
• Familiarity with networking in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is advantageous.
