Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Enterprise Network team in Austin, TX. You will help design, deploy, and operate scalable network solutions that support Google’s services for millions of users.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, collaboration across teams, and driving improvements in reliability and performance. A strong background in routing protocols and modern networking technologies is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
• Experience with network technologies or protocols, including VXLAN, BGP EVPN, 802.1x, LACP, encryption, key management, micro‑segmentation, or ACLs.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of solutions for Google's Enterprise network, executing new features qualification and validation through network development, deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Scale systems sustainably through tools and automation, and evolve systems by driving change that improves reliability and velocity.
• Deliver network dependability and network reliability by providing secure and reliable network services to the Google Enterprise Network team’s customers.
• Coordinate and take lead of assigned projects in all technical and communication aspects.
• Collaborate with peer engineers towards achieving common goals in assigned projects.

• Experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Knowledge with Linux.
• Excellent problem‑solving approach, coupled with communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $218000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
